From Passion to Plate:
The Story Behind
Ghee Tadka

Way back in my childhood, some of my fondest memories were made in the kitchen — not playing, not watching cartoons, but simply watching meals come to life. More than the scent of perfumes or fresh flowers, it was the aroma of ghee ka tadka that truly captivated me. I’d watch in awe as a simple tadka transformed a humble dish into something magical — rich, flavorful, and full of love.

As I grew up, life took me on a different path. I pursued management degrees and worked across various sectors. Everything around me changed — except one thing: my love for cooking. No matter how exhausting the day was, I always found peace in preparing a warm, home-cooked meal. It was my therapy, my safe space. Whether it was a family gathering or a celebration, I was always the one in the kitchen, and nothing made me happier.

When I met my husband, he often told me how special my cooking was. But back in India, where every home has a great cook, I never saw it as something more than a passion. It wasn't until we moved to Canada that he encouraged me to turn this love into something real — something I could share.

That’s how Ghee Tadka was born — from a heart full of nostalgia and a deep desire to bring the true taste of home to Indian hearts living far from it. I wanted every bite to remind you of home, of your mom’s cooking, of warmth, tradition, and comfort. Food that isn’t just tasty, but soothing to the soul.

At Ghee Tadka, every meal is made with the same love and care I grew up watching — slow-cooked, stirred with desi ghee, and seasoned with stories from back home. Because sometimes, all you need to feel close to India… is the right kind of tadka.
